The gifted artist and illustrator, Karin Oldfelt, has worked in a variety of media over the years. Her recent works, including those shown here, are watercolors and tend toward the abstract, taking inspiration from nature, in the form of clouds, flowers and landscapes. Her earlier works include oils, woodcuts and silkscreens, and also raw heavily on nature themes. Karin was personallys elected by Pablo Neruda to illustrate his book of poems, Maremoto, a tribute to the beauty and vitality of the sea. Karin similarly created a variety of striking woodcutsc elebrating the nature and wildlife of Cuba, where she served as Swedish Ambassador. She has also co-authored and illustrated a handsome book called Plantae Ekmanianae on the famed Swedish botanist Erik Leonard Ekman.
